The Cooler Earth 2022

Facilitating a Just Transition

The Cooler Earth is our mission to convene global citizens, experts and key stakeholders to deliberate on what you can do today as an individual and as a business to shape a more sustainable tomorrow.

This year's Summit, Facilitating a Just Transition, reflects on the accelerating global action on climate post COP-26, while making climate solutions and social development blueprints more inclusive, equitable and just. The Summit will focus on the significant systemic, business and lifestyle changes urgently needed for humanity to transition to a more livable future, and how this can be done in a way that ‘leaves no one behind’.

Our pledge towards sustainability

During the event, you'll be able to:

Get insights from sustainability leaders

Join the Summit and connect with thought leaders and practitioners from around the world on how they are facilitating a just transition. As we race towards a low carbon society, how do we ensure a fair and equitable transition that leaves no one behind? Understand challenges of different stakeholders and be inspired by leaders setting new standards.

Participate in masterclasses

Join up to six online masterclasses to learn about new tools and emerging environmental and social reporting frameworks. The choice of masterclasses includes practical steps and benefits of sustainable SMEs, addressing forced labour in supply chains, to the latest reporting frameworks on Climate and Nature related financial disclosures.

Learn by doing

Across the region, meet change makers and get involved in your local community. Learn about forest conservation and the wonders of mother nature, upcycle materials rather than dispose, understand challenges of people with disabilities, find out what it takes to initiate a start-up to make an impact and more!

Join us in-person or online!

Join us in-person at the Summit at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, and our experiential learning in the region. However, if you can’t join us in-person, you can still join the Summit and masterclasses online. Be engaged throughout the Summit through the use of online platforms for polls, Q&A, and translations.

Sustainability Corporate Day

There are increasing demands for corporates to implement a transition plan and invest in innovation in-line with a low-carbon society. Organised for investors, CIMB in partnership with CGS-CIMB, will showcase regional corporates and how they are addressing social and environmental risks, as well as transitioning towards a low-carbon economy.

CIMB ESG-SME Pitch Challenge

SMEs are the economic heartbeat of local economies but are at risk of being left out of supply chain and financing opportunities. Championed by CIMB Islamic, and with our partners pitchIN, Private Financing Advisory Network, and PwC Malaysia, the pitch challenge facilitates connections between prospective investors, with SMEs operating in the ESG space, to enable them to scale up.

Non-Profit Organisations

Did you know that there are more than 100,000 non-profit organisations in Malaysia alone? Around the region, NGOs are working to make the lives of local communities, and the environment, better. However, funding to sustain their efforts is an on-going challenge. CIMB Foundation, along with partner foundations, are seeking to identify and fund smaller NGOs that have the potential to make significant impact in the lives of local communities.
