Head of APPGM-SDG Secretariat

Senior Fellow ISIS Malaysia 

Professor Datuk Dr. Denison Jayasooria is the Head of the secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia on Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG), appointed by Malaysian Parliament House on Oct 17, 2019. He is also Senior Fellow (Social Policy and National Integration) at Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS Malaysia) since September 2021.

Datuk Denison's experience and expertise has been highly valued in the nation-building, as reflected by his recent appointment by the Prime Minister to the National Science Council (2022-2024), the Malaysian Foreign Minister as member of the Consultative Council on Foreign Policy (CCFP) (from Sept 2021) as well as by Minister of National Unity Malaysia as member of the National Unity Council (from August 2021).

Datuk Denison holds a PhD in sociology (1996) from Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom. He is a Chevening scholar (recipient of the British High Commissioners Award (1993-1996).
