PACOS TRUST (Partners of Community Organizations in Sabah)

Since 1993, Ms. Anne Lasimbang has set up 27 rural community learning centres in Sabah & Sarawak to provide opportunity for children to have the best possible start in their education. She is also a trainer in community organising for PACOS and actively promotes traditional knowledge and gender awareness at the grassroot level. Anne is a strong advocate for the recognition of indigenous community conservation areas as well as native customary land rights (NCR) in Sabah.

Ms. Anne was awarded The Margarette Golding Award in 2002 from International Inner Wheel and Community Service Award by the Rotary Club of KK South 2008 for her highly commendable personal service and in recognition of her contribution in promoting charitable projects to the rural areas of Sabah. She was also awarded the Tokoh Sukarelawan Negeri Sabah 2006.
