Cheol Woo joined Shinhan Financial Group in 2002 and served in various positions such as Corporate Strategy, International Business Development and Subsidiary Management of the Group.

After serving in Shinhan Financial Group for over ten years, he joined Shinhan BNP Paribas Asset Management as the Head of Corporate Strategy & Management Office, overlooking finance, strategy and HR of the asset management joint venture between Shinhan Group and BNP Paribas Group, the French banking group. During his 6 years period at the asset management company, he was also responsible for the international sales and development of the asset management business before taking the Corporate Management Office position.

From 2018, he returned to Shinhan Financial Group as currently the Head of Investor Relations to broaden relations with Shinhan Financial Group’s worldwide investors around the globe.

He graduated from London School of Economics for his bachelor degree in Economics and obtained his Master’s degree in Economic Development and Policy Analysis at University of Nottingham, UK. Prior to his higher education, he has attained his British A-levels and Scottish Highers at Hutchesons’ Grammar School, Glasgow, Scotland.

After his education, he completed his public duty in the Republic of Korea Air Force as a junior officer at the logistical planning, working with USAF officers stationed in Korea. Currently living in Seoul, he is happily married for 16 years with his wife and two children.
