Founder /Advocate #sayno2plastic and #zerofoodwastage
YAM Tengku Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah is a social advocate. and environmental activist in Malaysia. Tengku Zatashah has been tirelessly lobbying authorities and campaigning to the public on the catastrophic plastic pollution for her campaign #sayno2plastic. In 2016, she managed to influence her state Selangor exco to invest millions to clean up the Klang river from the plastic pollution reaching the seas. Tengku Zatashah launched a #zerofoodwastage campaign by getting hotels and supermarkets to channel their surplus food to Kechara Soup Kitchen to feed the homeless and urban poor families, and keep food out of the landfills. Since its inception in 2016, #zerofoodwastage has saved 810 tonnes that has benefitted nearly 40,000 people. She is on the Board of Trustee to Selangor Youth Community (SAY), the Raja Muda Selangor Foundation and the Food Bank Malaysia Foundation. Tengku Zatashah is a graduate with Magna Cum Laude from American Graduate School of International Relations & Diplomacy, Paris, as well as Cours de la Civilisation Francaise de la Sorbonne in Paris, Finance executive programme from INSEAD Business School (Singapore) and Women Directors’ Programme by Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development and NIEW. She is the Royal Patron for Make-A-Wish Malaysia and President of Alliance Francaise Kuala Lumpur.
