Wan Shakila Adiela binti Wan Azmi is a graduate of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia majoring in Social Sciences. She started engaging in the field of education advocacy since 2016 and began as a refugee teacher of an alternative learning center for Rohingya children in Kajang.
She is currently serving as the Manager of Sekolah Alternatif, a free education project for marginalized children in Sabah developed by Borneo Komrad. Shakila’s role is to raise funds and manage school administration as a whole. She is based in Kuala Lumpur.
Shakila’s interests are on issues of education, children and marginalized communities. She is also actively volunteering with other organizations such as Dapur Jalanan Kuala Lumpur. Recently, she was appointed as the Malaysian representative in the Presidium of the World Youth Association.
