Founder and Executive Director
The Climate Mobilization
Margaret Klein Salamon, PhD, is a clinical psychologist turned climate warrior whose work helps people to face the deeply frightening, painful truths of the climate emergency and transform their despair into effective action. She is the founder and executive director of The Climate Mobilization, which advocates all-hands-on-deck, whole society mobilization to protect humanity and the living world from climate catastrophe. She is the author of "Facing the Climate Emergency: How to Transform Yourself with Climate Truth", a radical self-help guide for the climate emergency.
"Climate is an emergency - if we don’t take immediate, societal-wide, global-scale action, we face civilisational collapse. But the topic of the climate emergency is terrifying; the vast majority of us are conducting our daily lives as if nothing is happening. This is dangerous, both for ourselves and the planet. To become warriors who protect humanity, we must look inward and learn to process the painful and scary truths of the climate emergency - and then use them to become stronger and more resilient. This is how we will build a mass movement for transformation of our economy at emergency speed - we turn our pain into action."
